DESCRIPTION:Free Public Event– RSVP Required and space is limited \nA lecture series about birds and birdwatching\, for those who cannot access outdoor birding opportunities or cannot get enough birds. \n  \nExperience birds and birding through an accessible and approachable indoor lecture series led by expert guide and bird photographer George Ho. These events are open to anyone who would like to learn more about the world of birds\, including those who cannot access outdoor birding opportunities\, those new to the hobby of birding\, and those who are not “early birds” themselves. \nTaking place directly after our first Saturday bird walks\, each lecture will cover different topics related to birds with George’s excellent nature photography bringing the topics to life. No prior knowledge is needed to enjoy these talks that are aimed at inspiring a love of birds\, encouraging conservation\, and bringing nature into reach for everyone. All ages are welcome\, but participants under 18 should be accompanied by an adult and be enthusiastic about learning. This is one of the first hands-on steps in bringing that vision to life\, and we’d love your help getting it started. \nWe’ll plant trees and native plants\, build garden beds\, tackle water conservation projects\, and give the site an overall community greening boost. \nThis is outdoor\, hands-on work\, rain or shine. Please wear closed-toe shoes and bring sun protection. We will have an indoor and outdoor reserved spot at Bluff Lake that is comfortable\, quiet\, and out of the way so that we can focus on our gathering. The weather is part of the deal\, so please dress in comfortable layers to spend some time outdoors. These get togethers are led by Sheri Peterson\, a certified Nature Connected Coach and Transformational Wilderness Guide. These circles will happen once every two months to provide a longer and more in-depth mindfulness activity. Recommended age 16 and up. \nSheri also leads our monthly Wonder Wanders. We will be taking a sunset walk to explore the wetlands\, and identify signs of animal activity.
