Bikes and Birds / Bicicletas y pájaros

Join SCRGP and Bikes Together for another Bikes and Birds event along the Sand Creek Greenway! All ages and abilities are welcome. We will start the day with an optional opportunity to tune up your bike from 9-10am (+ learn some basic bike maintenance tips!), enjoy a short presentation from the City of Aurora naturalists at Morrison Nature Center, then start our ride around 10:45am. We will stop at approximately half-mile intervals to bird, and make our way to Triple Creek Trailhead (18000 E Colfax Ave, Aurora, CO 80011). The total route is approximately 2.6 miles (5.2 miles round trip).

After reaching Triple Creek, there will be an option to ride back to Morrison Nature Center, continue birding at Triple Creek Trailhead, or to arrange your own transportation from Triple Creek Trailhead back to your car/homes.

Coffee, water, and snacks will be provided at the start of the event, but we advise folks to come prepared with their own day pack for any extra water, snacks, sunscreen/bug spray, etc. that you need to be successful!

If you would like to borrow a bike: With the help of Denver Alternative Sports, we can provide a bike for you during this event if you do not have one. Please select this in the form below to make sure we have advance notice of this request. *You must register by 9/15 to be able to borrow one of the bikes for the event. You also must attend a biking safety class at 9:15am on the day of the program.

Español: ¡Únete a SCRGP y Bikes Together para otra edición del evento «Bikes and Birds» a lo largo de la vía verde de Sand Creek! Son bienvenidas personas de todas las edades y niveles. Comenzaremos el día con la oportunidad opcional de poner a punto tu bicicleta de 9:00 a 10:00 de la mañana (¡y aprenderás algunos consejos básicos de mantenimiento!), disfrutaremos de una breve presentación a cargo de los naturalistas del Ayuntamiento de Aurora en el Morrison Nature Center y, a continuación, comenzaremos nuestro recorrido sobre las 10:45 de la mañana. Al inicio del evento se proporcionará café, agua y aperitivos, pero te recomendamos que vengas preparado con tu propia mochila para llevar agua extra, aperitivos, protector solar, repelente de insectos, etc., ¡todo lo que necesites para que la jornada sea un éxito!

Si deseas pedir prestada una bicicleta: Con la ayuda de Denver Alternative Sports, podemos proporcionarte una bicicleta durante este evento si no dispones de una. Selecciona esta opción en el formulario que aparece a continuación para asegurarte de que recibimos tu solicitud con antelación. *Debes inscribirte antes del 15 de septiembre para poder tomar prestada una de las bicicletas para el evento. Además, debes asistir a un curso de seguridad en bicicleta a las 9:15 de la mañana del día del programa.
